I really enjoyed the conversation. You haven’t read Dune!, missed the horrible movie from 1984 and okay mini-series? I agree on being a pantser over planner depending on the genre. It’s more fun that way. It lets the characters develop and evolve for each situation instead of be programmed.
Yes. I think I must be the only sci-fi fan left who hasn’t read Dune. 😀 I’m liking it so far.
They asked Harlan Ellison back in 83 he’d do the screen play. He told them that King of Kings had already been done. He did one anyway, but they went with someone else to their regret.
This was excellent. But seriously dude, who hasn’t read Dune? That’s like saying you haven’t watched and adored the theatrical cut of Bladerunner.

I personally also love the 80’s movie… it’s nuts. But so is the book. Plus, it’s got Sting.
