So, I watched some of that soccer thing.

I quit at halftime, which seemed to be around the 48 minute mark. It was okay.

I think it’s rather telling, though, that I have spent far more time thinking about the implications of Nebraska switching to a different conference than I have about the World Cup.

But take heart, U.S. soccer fans. I don’t think it’s because it’s a lousy sport. I mean, it is a lousy sport, in my opinion, but that isn’t why it’s so unpopular. Lots of what I think are lousy sports are popular here in the U.S. With some better marketing, it could be a big thing.
