"Less is more."

I don’t follow pro basketball at all, but I did hear about their lockout ending, and my first reaction was: “66 games is a shortened season?”

So, it turns out they normally play an 82 game season. That’s way too many games. When you play that many games, I’ve always thought, each individual game becomes devalued. Besides, everyone knows people have short attention spans; most people can’t follow a sport that long.

The same goes for hockey and baseball. I’m sure it makes them more money in the short-term to have a lot of games, but in the long-term the sport might be more popular if they had fewer.

What's your stake in this, cowboy?
