Consider the source.

Former Vice-President Walter Mondale said that President Obama “uses these idiot boards [Teleprompters] to read speeches on television and I think he loses the connection that he needs emotionally with American voters.”

Look, I’ve got nothing against Mondale. I don’t know enough about the guy to have an opinion on his ideas or most of what he did during what I assume was a distinguished career. But I would be inclined to ignore advice from him on connecting with the American people, given his track record.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure Obama’s problem connecting with the American people stems more from the bad economy. Having no money makes people a touch irritable. I don’t think anyone complained about this with all of the other Presidents who have used Teleprompters.

What's your stake in this, cowboy?
