Pictures from my walk in an old country cemetery

It’s a very interesting spot. I’ve gotten a lot of ideas for my writing here, including this poem and one of the stories in this book.

These pictures don’t do it justice. Even video wouldn’t do it justice. It’s very peaceful, standing here and feeling the wind rustling the leaves and listening to the creaking of the trees.

  1. I love walking in cemeteries. Not only are they peaceful, but so rich in history. I wonder about the lives they represent and the fact that I can find something peaceful about a particular spot that embodies so much grief. What do you think? Do you notice that, too?

    1. Yes, absolutely. Cemeteries tend to be very peaceful and tranquil. It almost seems supernatural. (Interestingly, I’ve noticed that historic battlefields, like Gettysburg, often have the same vibe.)

What's your stake in this, cowboy?
