In the wake of the LinkedIn disaster, Slate has a good article on making more secure passwords.  But the thing is, it’s actually really easy to come up with a hard-to-crack password.  The reason people don’t is that they can’t remember about 50 of those.  So, what to do?

One thing I’ve learned is, if you have a different password for every site, the easiest thing to is, when you’re making the password, look really hard at the login page for that site.  Just look at it.  Then think your short, hard-to-guess phrase.  that for a minute or two.  Consciously think to yourself “When I see this login page, I will think of [your password here.]” It’s simple conditioning.
